Child care and early childhood education are of central importance to our society and a key legislative responsibility for Government. It is imperative that safe and developmentally-appropriate children's services are available to promote the health and wellbeing of children and their families.
The Child Care Act 2001 provides a system for the regulation of child care services that reflects the Government's desire to safeguard children through the effective licensing and registration of child care services. Section 47 of the Act provides for the issuing of Standards.
